Key Achievements

This page summarises my key achievements throughout my career and my life.

At school I starred as Joseph in the school play of Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat. I loved performing on stage, and this experience compelled me to continue singing and performing ever since.

I received a First Class degree with Honours for my undergraduate degree in Environmental Policy and Management from London Guildhall University in 1994.

I was awarded a PhD in 2002 for my research into carbon content of Peatlands in Northern Ireland by Queen's University, Belfast. I discovered that carbon storage estimates in peatlands in the region had been considerably overestimated due to lack of empirical data in the past.

I set up and ran my own web design business, "Infinet Design" in Belfast for five years.

I won a Prince's Trust Business of the Year Northern Ireland award in 2001 for "Infinet Design". I went to London and shook hands with Prince Charles in St James' Palace as a result.

I programmed the bands and artists, three years in a row, for one of the biggest concerts of Jewish Music in London - Simcha in the Square, and I also hosted the events from the stage.

I directed and managed the JMI KlezFest Summerschool in London in 2008, bringing over an international faculty from Israel and USA including Frank London (USA), Joanne Borts (USA), Moshe Berlin (Israel) and AndraLaMoussia (Israel)

I performed Yiddish songs from the Shoah for Holocaust Memorial Day in City Hall, 2 years in a row; audience included Ken Livingstone the first year and Boris Johnston the second year.
