Arts Events

I am an Arts Events Manager / Programmer and am currently looking for positions managing music and arts events and festivals, or developing arts programmes for venues.

I have a wide and varied interest across all the arts platforms and have been involved in artistic, music and creative endeavours throughout my life.

I have a background in art and design including arts-focussed a'levels (I achieved a B in History of Art and a C in Art), a pre-foundation course in Art and Design at Camden Arts Centre followed by a Foundation in Art and Design at Chelsea School of Art.

In 1998 I started my own business, Infinet Design, designing websites for businesses and Governments from my base in Belfast, Northern Ireland. I grew Infinet Design from a one-woman band to 2 full time employees and an army of subcontractors. I even won a "Business of the Year Award" from the Prince's Trust in 2001.

Since 2003 I have been working with the Jewish Music Institute developing programmes for music events, creating and managing music concerts including 3 annual Simcha on the Square events. I secured top International Jewish performers including Sophie Solomon (UK), The Klezmatics (USA), Estelle (France) and Naekhovici (Russia) as well as some wonderful home-grown acts, attracting crowds of over 25,000 to Trafalgar Square. I even hosted the events from the stage, which was a fantastic experience.

While at the JMI I also managed events including KlezFest in the Park, KlezFest Summer School, Klez in the City as well as numerous workshops and classes on Sephardi and Ashkenazi music to all ages. I was also particularly focussed on New Jewish music - fusions of Jewish music with contemporary styles, to excite and build enthusiasm for Jewish music amongst younger audiences.

It was the success I achieved through these experiences that convinced me that I am well suited to a career in Arts Management.
