Snowboarding / Skiing

I started skiing when I was 4 years old. My dad never tires of telling me how he used to push me up the slope to watch me move a few inches and then fall over.

We were lucky to spend every Easter holiday in an apartment in Lac de Tignes, France, which we initially shared with the Wilsons' - a family from New Zealand. When they returned to their homeland we started sharing the flat with the Traub family and we still do to this day.

While I loved skiing, by the time I was in my early 20s, I felt that there were no more challenges unless I went and learnt downhill or something. So I started to learn to snowboard. Snowboarding is different from Skiing - its a different position and a different action. In some ways its more demanding. Its definitely more difficult to go fast.

I have snowboarded for the last 18 years, but this year I decided to get a pair of skis. I went for the K2 Xplorers - which are focussed on soft / thick snow.

More on skiing and snowboarding soon...
